I'm streaming! And I have an upcoming show!

I never thought I'd be a streamer and don't have any aspirations since realizing that it wasn't my thing during lockdown. However, I started playing A Date with Death and decided to stream it for friends because it's how The Companion and I interact (I am Death in this case). It's also a nice way to relax after stressing out over shows and writing. I'm also using this as an opportunity to promote my final show of 2024: Hi, Intrepid Queerdos! It's Taste the Tease's Dimension 20-themed variety show, and I'm doing a burlesque/pole number.  Surprise! I am performing in New Jersey. I had already planned a trip to Anime NJ++ (and Big Snow American Dream), and I was able to link up with Scarlett Mafia. The show is this Saturday at 8 PM in the Main Events room.

Performing has taken a backseat as I try to figure out what my future is with it. I've been doing other sorts of writing too so the blog remains on the back burner. In any case, I really wanted to help out the folks affected by Hurricane Helene, as a couple of people I follow (in burlesque and elsewhere) were in the areas and have shared how bad it is. If you're free today, please come to this benefit show. It's the last in-person Dallas gig that Tony or I are doing for the year too.

Upcoming show: Clarklewis Drag Brunch (in Portland!)

Surprise! I'm supposed to be on a vacation, but I couldn't resist checking out the performance scene while in Portland. So Tony Fo-Hawk was able to be persuaded to step away from watching the Rockstar Energy Open and do his second drag brunch ever.

Upcoming con AND show: AnimeFest

After much persuasion, Tony Fo-Hawk is returning to the stage! He's joining Otterly Fierce Productions to debut a brand-new act for their AnimeFest show. It takes place Friday, July 26 at 9 PM. You will need a con badge and your ID, as it is 18+. The show will be in Panel Room 5/Sage.

Members of the cast will be talking about our experiences with drag on Saturday night, July 27 at 10:30 PM in Panel Room 1/Monument Ballroom F. I will also be doing my nerdlesque panel on Thursday night at 10:30 PM in Panel Room 2/Monument Ballroom H). It's the very last AnimeFest as a full-on convention so I hope to see you there!

Upcoming shows: Plumb Askew Revue

 I swear I will get back to blogging one day. I actually had plans, but I wound up getting Multiple Eye White Dot Syndrome, which is an uncommon autoimmune condition in the eye that can cause vision issue. On top of that, I was hit by a car while walking to a doctor's appointment in trying to get a diagnosis. I was incredibly lucky and didn't get too severe of injuries so I was able to perform at FemmeFest. My eye is also healing to where I'm not getting headaches when I use the computer. There are a couple of other writing projects I want to work on, but I will be back writing about burlesque.

Upcoming show: FemmeFest '24

 Happy World Burlesque Day! I haven't retired yet, but I have cut back on doing burlesque and drag. This includes blogging about it although I will eventually write the posts that have been in the backburner for a couple of years. Right now there's just other projects that have my focus (on top of getting my mental health sorted out).

I do, however, have a show coming up. It's the only DFW performance in the near future, and it's a festival! I'll be a part of FemmeFest's Gayliens early Saturday showcase at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studio in Denton on June 15. Upcoming show and some things to note

Long time no see! I've been neglecting this blog because I find myself at a sort of crossroads with burlesque and drag. If you've noticed, I haven't had many gigs, in person or virtual. Although the opportunities have definitely decreased, I haven't tried very hard either. At the end of 2023, I was wondering if The Galactic Salon would be my swan song. I created a big number, and the show is the perfect blend of burlesque and poetry, which is something I've put more energy towards. However, I'm not completely ready to say goodbye. I have applied to a couple other shows, but this is my only in-person appearance for now. And it's sold out!

My other note is that as a citizen of the world, I must make clear my support for Palestine. Quite often I wonder what I am doing with working on a new act when genocide is happening and my country is letting it happen. I do try to call my reps whenever I can, and I've donated to charities and an eSIM. I'm not an important artist who would get the chance to go to Israel, but I still signed the Queer Artists for Palestine in show of solidarity (I've also signed a letter for skateboarders).
